Tell us about your living situation on a yearly basis. After The 8mile burned down, i’ve been living on Mikeys couch, but this year he told me that i’m old enough to have your own room! so i moved the couch from the living room in to my room. maybe next year i’ll up grade to a bed!!

Long story short, it was many years back at a strip joint. A stripper who happened to know my name because she was into snowboarding told me that this is who I was for her… Pretty funny!

Tell us about your new unit WCP?
Whistler Creek Productions is a full service Production company I’m co-Owners with Start Andrews in.
We produce and coordinate projects from small shred media shoots to internet web series to television commercials. Its a tight small company where we get to work in locations we love to be in and get to hire all of our talented friends. We’ve only been at a for a couple years and every year its getting busier and more successful with every job.

What’s your fave trip you have guided on?
As far as organizing and guiding a show I’d say it would be between riding uptapped lines with Terje and Jake Blauvelt in the Squamish area and touring all over Interior of BC with a female Red Bull ski/snowboard crew. Both good in their own way. Girl trip was sick lodges/terrain and powder and sunshine. I got to pick whatever line I wanted.
Squamish heli trip was great because it was my backyard so it was easy to roll out of bed or decide at like 2PM to go hit up the late days light/snow. Riding with Terje and Jake was also pretty sweet!

Do you love being called the wizard?
No I don’t love it. Its not terribly bad but it does make me seem old and I really don’t feel old. Maybe I got some greys but…
Least it makes me seem smart and crafty!

if you could have one other nickname to replace wizard, what would it be?
Not a big fan of nicknames anyhow but I guess other people do call me Gets, getsalano,or whatever continues on after gets…

Tell us about rolling in Kale’s mini van….
Jesus fucking christ! Had a wicked fire in Mikeys backyard yesterday so obviously we drank a bunch of beers, we ended up getting pretty juiced so we payed Kale 60bones to drive up to Whis in his MPV on a sunday night to see browner DJ. Got there for 2 drinks pretty much Kale prolly had enough to drink and drive. Next thing I know its snowing sideways, we r hot boxing the shit out his van, windshield is foggy as shit, driving over these cones and doing hand brake slides in a minivan down the highway…fucking smart right! Shit was tight! PS the radio is not really loud….

i live in Bralorne B.C. an hour sled from pemberton. You just take the hurley all the way until you see a billboard in the middle of no where then turn right. 13 k and your there. the population here is 60. theres no chicks here but the riding/sledding is epic.

did you just feel like giving Whistler the middle finger or what!!?
theres a few reasons why i moved here. my parents bought a place here for retirement. but they dont retire for another 2-3 years. so its cheap in the sense i dont have to pay rent. I was also kinda over whistler too. i pretty much partied my dick off the 4 years i was there. the riding was sick but the scene was gettin to me. plus im pretty over jibbin. I just kinda wanna sled and ride pow from now on.

I actually snowboard like 8 or 9 months of the year and then work with Russ Dalby brick laying, he’s the dopest boss. He’s helped me out a lot.

i like long hair and i don’t care to wash it too much. that is why.

You have been shredding the whis backcountry for years and have had tons of amazing parts, will you ever be fully satisfied with your part? no i don’t think so, there is always shit that i want to get in the year, but don’t end up getting, or tricks i would like to do over when i watch them in my part at the end of the year. thats all good though it keeps me going i love it.

You just bought a new house in Squam, are the responsibilities annoying? haha yea they are sometime super annoying. it makes you realize how simple living in a condo is. but it’s good to have a yard. the other day there was a big flood cause of all the fucking rain, and we had to deal with it. we rented a generator and hooked up a hose to one end, and a fire hose to the other end. it was awesome i was sprayin mad water onto my street. my neighbours love me!

Do you miss 8mile (the residence)? if so, why?
yea i miss it for sure it was awesome times and no cares at all. it took a while to get used to a bed. i just kept sleeping on my couch for a while when i moved into my new spot. But now i have gotten comfortable with an actual bed. the couch was awesome for those years though!
Do you still get rashes on your face when you drink whisky?
yea i still get that sometime, and havn’t quite narrowed it down to what alchohol does it to me. maybe it is a mix! it’s super annoying. when someone gets the booze rash we call it ERYC. i hate ERYC
